Costs and funding

 

Let’s be honest, in times of recession such as now, the training budget is one of the first to suffer cutbacks, I know I’ve been there! I also know that one of the first questions I am asked is how much is this going to cost me.

I could point out the proven fact that training and development will save money in the long term, however I’m also very aware that in the short term there will have to be some financial outlay. That’s why at the outset I will look for any funding opportunities that may be on hand to help businesses get over that short term cost.

Finally one other question I’ve been asked in the past is “what if I spend all this money training them and they leave?” my answer is always "what if you don’t train them and they stay! "
